DASIM Workshop III "Reducing nitrogen losses and greenhouse gas emissions from arable agriculture: How can new modelling concepts help?" in Garmisch-Partenkirchen
03.05.2023 - 04.05.2023
Goals:
- new research strategies on N dynamic and denitrification of agricultural fields
- novel model approach applications for N loss reduction and sustainable agriculture management
- improved simulation of soil O2 dynamics
- create a standardized method of model calibration
- discuss the opportunity and process of more rigorous model comparison study
- expand the modeler knowledge network
- establish a knowledge network on modeling of soil O2 and denitrification dynamics for improved simulation of N dynamics.
Clarify the limitations of soil O2dynamic and the anaerobic volume modelling,
collect and compare new and existing approaches for modelling anaerobic soil processes,
discuss experimental approaches and available data on anaerobic processes and O2dynamics in soils,
outline feasible concepts for improved simulation of soil O2dynamics,
establish a knowledge network on modelling of soil O2and denitrification dynamics.
International workshop with experts on denitrification models
Challenges, improvements, unresolved problems, new ideas, existing and new models, uncertainties, usefulness, requirements to data and models, advantages and disadvantages of existing models, validation of models, limitations of models,...
